We Heart Coconut Bliss (Remembering Eugene – Pt. 2)

September 30, 2009

There are few things we love love love like we love love love Coconut Bliss. It is hands down, no ifs ands or buts, the BEST non-dairy ice cream on the market (and made in our beloved Eugene!). We are going to say this once, and only once, so pay close attention…all vegan ice creams are NOT created equal. We admit that there are some other yummy non-dairy frozen desserts out there, but nothing, and we mean nothing, comes close to Coconut Bliss.

The good folks at Luna & Larry’s (the creators of Coconut Bliss) were kind enough to send Wozzie a t-shirt for being such a fan. Say soy cheeeeeeeese!

wozcoconutbliss

In addition to the fabby shirt, they also sent coupons for their yummy dessert. Oh how we heart them! So, although we’d LOVE to use those coupons to get our little hands on the Bliss, we are going to pass along the happiness to YOU! We promised you a contest and here are the details to win a pint of any flavor Coconut Bliss your tummy desires. All you have to do is leave a comment telling us your favorite Coconut Bliss flavor and how you like to eat it (in a float? in a cookie sammie? in a bowl at 5 a.m.? You get the picture…) Haven’t tried the Bliss? No worries! Simply go to their site and pick a flavor you’d like to try and let us know why! We will be choosing TWO winners; one will be chosen at random from the comments and one will be for the most creative way to partake in the Coconut Bliss. We’ll be choosing the winners on October 10 (which happens to be Rahzh’s 4 year Veganniversary).

Still craving more Bliss…and really, who wouldn’t? Be sure to enter Luna & Larry’s A Night of Bliss contest! On November 7th, Coconut Bliss will be making people smile with fifty simultaneous parties across the United States. They’ll provide the Coconut Bliss and you host the party. Together you’ll create a critical mass of ecstasy that will ripple across the country, awakening joy and delight from Petaluma to Poughkeepsie. Not a bad way to spend an evening, eh? Click here for complete details. Be sure to hurry, the deadline has been slightly extended until October 7!

With so many ways to get your hands on Coconut Bliss, what are you waiting for?

My favorite flavor of Coconut Bliss is the dark chocolate and I enjoy it with some organic locally grown raspberries and a glass of Malbec wine on the side. It’s the ultimate indulgence!

Mmmmmm we like the Malbecs! (And I really like the dark chocolate).

I have always wanted to try Coconut Bliss, but I can’t find it anywhere where I live. 😦
I’ve only seen the So Delicious Coconut ice cream… and while that is delicious, I’d much rather support a smaller company- especially one that uses fair trade ingredients!
I would especially love to try the Chocolate Hazelnut ice cream… it sounds incredible! 🙂

I fully concur… no one can touch Coconut Bliss. Even the other coconut milk based vegan “ice creams” are good, but not **amazing** like Coconut Bliss.

    My favorite flavor(s) and how I like to eat them are;

Naked or Vanilla as a sundae with my homemade vegan Chocolate Fudge sauce

Dark Chocolate or Peanut Butter Chocolate – straight up!

Ooooh, what a tough one. So much bliss!

How about…Mint Galactica while watching Battlestar Galactica on DVD?

  15. October 3, 2009 1:50 AM

CHERRY AMARETTO! Straight out of the pint! It never occurred to me to try anything else, but that ginger ale float sounds amazing…

We have one little store near us that carries Coconut Bliss, but I have never seen the Cherry Amaretto or the Cappuccino. I’d love either one of those with a nice vegan brownie. yum!

    • October 3, 2009 8:27 PM

Have you used the locator on the CB site? sometimes places carry Coconut Bliss and people don’t even realize it. Or sometimes places start carrying it after you already checked.

Yes, the locator shows the same store that I buy it at already and I usually pester the store people at my regular grocery store, so its all good.

I feel fortunate that its even available here since we are a very small town up in the mountains. There are a lot of products we cannot get up here.

That’s a really cool idea! I love love love coconut bliss. My favorite vegan ice cream, no question. Unfortunately, I don’t think I could round up many interested folks here in the woods of Maine. More for me, I guess.

    Happy Mofo!

Thanks for linking me to the contest! I’ve only tried the Chocolate Hazelnut Fudge, but I’m itching to try the Chocolate Peanut Butter. And I’m all for the KISS method of eating ice cream – keep it simple, stupid! 😀

Hey! I haven’t had the joy of trying Coconut Bliss yet, although it sounds AMAZING! I will defaintly go searching for some tomorrow. I have always stuck with Soy Dream, which is pretty good. However they didn’t offer such unique flavors!

As to how I would eat it, I beleive I would choose the naked almond fudge ontop of a coconut macaroon, drizzled with the slighest bit of chocolate drizzle on top! MMMMM!!!! Can’t wait till i get my hands on it!

  29. October 4, 2009 9:34 AM

I’ve never had Coconut Bliss but I’ve always lusted after it. Its always been a bit out of my price range. But with the opportunity I would have to go for the naked, pure coconut. I love coconut and really, this just sounds divine. Nothing extraordinary or crazy, just pure orgasmic coconut.

  30. October 4, 2009 10:56 AM

well, my favorite flavor is the cappuccino, possibly because the best way to eat coconut bliss is to have a scoop of naked coconut with a shot or two of espresso over it–but i’ve only been lucky enough to have that once.
(i’ve also loved eating it in a little cup while oogling other decadent vegan desserts at eugene’s own sweet life!)

wow! I went to their website, and I hadn’t realized how many flavors they had! I’ve only tried the cherry amaretto, but it was amazing. It sounds boring but I think I’d like the naked coconut best, but also would love to try the pineapple coconut for tropical sundaes.

I once got a pint of their Chocolate Peanut Butter as an impulse buy while visiting a friend and then proceeded to eat it for breakfast the next day when I found out the friend didn’t have any other vegan breakfast options in his house. Outside of the Chocolate Peanut Butter, the Cherry Amaretto has often been tempting, but what I really want to try are the Dark Chocolate Bars. Haven’t seen ’em around where I live though.

I would love to try the pineapple coconut. I have two little guys with food allergies that keep them from enjoying treats with dairy and eggs as ingredients. While we have been trying one of the guys on lots of soy based items, we are a bit afraid that he is reacting to the soy too. Please pick us! I can’t wait to get some for the boys to try. :9

This past weekend I was at CHFA Expo East and found out that Coconut Bliss is coming to Canada in February. I was so thrilled and will be posting about this find on my blog today. I can’t wait to try the Mint Galactica. I suggest grabbing a little spoonful just before heading out the door for a run. It will give you a little boost and you’ll run home faster knowing there is more in the freezer.

well, I’ve never tried Coconut Bliss… but if I won a coupon, I’d *definitely* use it for Chocolate Hazelnut. Back when I lived in Italy, pregan, I used to eat tons of gelato, and my most favorite was always one scoop of chocolate and one scoop of hazelnut. I find that the hazelnut is under-appreciated here in the US, and this makes me and my tastebuds sad.

  51. October 10, 2009 4:59 AM

Which flavor to try? Dark chocolate would be deeply satisfying and oh-so-decadent with the creamy coconut undertone. But how can you pass up impossibly creamy cappucino? And well you can’t pass by Naked Almond Fudge, it’d be wrong. Must try all flavors as soon as possible, but especially these three. Did you really expect anyone to choose a single flavor to try??

  52. October 10, 2009 7:17 PM

Winners will be chosen and posted soon.
